  1. I would say moving the water over isn't necessary. There really isn't much benefit in terms of bb for the water. One thing I would suggest is to put the gravel from the 10 on top of the extra that you will need to fill the norm of the 20l. I would also move the filter material over as well, even if you just stuff it in there somewhere.  But after that as long as you don't add a bunch more fish you shortly be good to go. I

  2. I belive i have a pregnant Molly. Her abdomen is starting to square off. I was wondering 2 things.

    1. How long do you think it will be until she has the fry?

    2. Would a 5 gallon tank be enough room for her to be in for a while until she has them?

  3. I did not get the ziss. I got one that I can hang inside my tank too keep temp up. I don't have a ton of room established yet you the hobby. I found a smaller one that mostly fits in my 5 gallon grow out tank. I only have 11 fry currently so I don't need to hatch that many.

  4. I just received my hatchery and some eggs in the mail. I tried to Google this but all the topics talk about specific gravity. I have no way of measuring specific gravity and was hoping you all could help me. How much salt to water so I need to make and can I use api aquarium salt?

    TIA

  5. I just looked up seachem on their website and this is what it says

Prime® may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. It contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water.

  6. I just checked my grow out tank for the heck of it too see what the water parameters are. With twice daily water changes i want expecting to see anything but I actually have ammonia. About 1ppm maybe more. It's definitely green but not super dark. I'm getting ready to do another water change and will take out 50% . I use prime for dechlorinating. I have some quick start as well and was wondering if I can add that as well. I know bb isn't all that is cracked up to be but I was going to do a little expirament. I'm going to change the water, measure the ammonia and then add the bb. And then recheck 24hrs later to see what happens.

Whet I want to make sure is that mixing the two won't have any bad reactions and possibly kill the Cory fry.

    TIA

  7. @Tihshho thank you for all the information. The container is from my kids playroom. They were using it outside and never brought it back in. We have been having a lot of rain the past couple weeks so it filled up with water. I was mowing the lawn and drove post it and happened to look in and see them. Based on the info from you I would say it's safe to harvest. Would you agree?

  8. I remember reading some time ago about people on this forum harvesting insect larva to feed their fish. Attached are some pics. Are there suitable to feed and if so can I use them to feed my Cory fry as well. They look like like worms of various sizes, Just in case the pictures aren't clear20210911_155107.jpg.f75ecca5f9b38513119ca1b6d3353afb.jpg20210911_155107.jpg.f75ecca5f9b38513119ca1b6d3353afb.jpg20210911_155107.jpg.f75ecca5f9b38513119ca1b6d3353afb.jpg20210911_155109.jpg.93eb345f30f1995cd4530024e02f9220.jpg20210911_155113.jpg.a747eea911a45bfc70c65271cdf5690e.jpg
