Is it the seachem ammonia alert card  they show reading for NH3   in my experience not very accurate

I have use general cure and not had a problem just keep testing while doing your treatment

Fish can die from stress heart attacks old age just like humans water conditions seem fine I would do a water change do you use water conditions when doing water changes have you tested your tap water

If it a parasitic infection I would treat the hole tank because they all might have it and not be showing symptoms yet

You can use snail but what I do is add a small amount of fish food every couple of days  to keep the cycle going and feed the benefial bacterial the snail will all so help with this

Yes it work the same as an airstone  airstone just produces finer bubbles

No I don't think that would be a problem if it coming out at 0 API ammonia test kit test for NH3 and NH4 you won't a test kit that only test for NH3  your test kit is test for both ammonia and ammonium giving a higher reading

Use up the stability you have left  then just keep you with 25%daily water till you ammonia level reduced what type of ammonia test kit do you have
