  1. Here is our new Fahaka Puffer Pete,  hes being housed in a 40 Breeder than off to a 75G  until he reaches his adult stage where he will spend his days in my 150G.  Anyhow my question is how do you all think he looks? Ive run him through one round of the trio and am about to start the second round of parasite meds for the eggs.  I have yet to see him eat but this tank is full of shrimp and snails.  Ive been feeding blood worms and krill flake/extreme pellet/Hikari pellet mixture.  I cant tell if his belly is sunken or if hes doing ok.  I havent had very good luck with wild caught puffers even with prestine parameters and high grade food.  So this is my last shot.

  2. @FreshwaterFacet The spoonful is for a 13g and mune is just shy of 3g so I just hit it with a 1/4 of the sppon it came with and than half of the 1/4 to just a sprinkle and its seemed to work. I no longer see them on the glass or anywhere for that.

Does it mean teaspoon or tablespoon? And what size tank do you have - I take it it’s a nano tank?

1 tablespoon is the same as 3 teaspoons.

  5. So Im preparring for a 75G Brackish water aquarium for a Green spotted Puffer. My plan is to start a 20 Breeder to hopefully supply me with some of the food intake.  My question is How hard is it to hatch a snail Clutch if ai was to order 1 online?

  6. Im part of multiple Faxebook groups for aquascaping and I seen one this morning someone was asking about where to find great plants online and WOW! 300 comments and Id say 90% of the people replied Aquarium Co-Op!  Great Job @Cory.  Super happy to see your hard work and dedication pay off.

  7. Ive changed the hours of my lighting and now the only time I get to enjoy them is  on the weekends and im not diggin it!  So heres my question If I dont start my lights till 5pm and run till midnight will the ambient light during the day mess with my plants during their off time?  My house is fairly well lite!

  8. How Should I set the colors?  I knew better than to buy the second light lol. When you buy the Flex series it comes with a coupon for the second aquasky for like $50 so I couldnt resist and I got the entire setup including the stand for $300 cause the box was destroyed so Petsmart marked it down 40%!  I love the Flex, I had to alter the intakes to keep those high dollar Bee's from being sucked in and chopped up with the pump.  I just used  black window screen siliconed to the existing intake screen. It worked well!

  9. So this tank would be considered High tech I suppose, as the title says dual Aquasky LEDs along with Pressurized Co2 everythings on a timer.  Im struggling with the lights situation tho. Im growing tons of Hair Algae and im pretty sure its due to tje massive amounts of light coming from the two screaming Aquasky LEDs.  I ended up getting duck weed this tank and with Stratum, Easy tabs. and easy green its growing like crazy!  And it got thick enough its blocked out atleast half the light and my algae problem started fixing itself.  So my question is has anyone had this issue and if so could I possibly mimic their settings cause I have no idea what each particular color does? Ill add a pic of my current settings. Also my current times all is Co2 kicks on at 5am lights on at 6am than co2 off at 4pm than ligjts off and aerator on at 5pm and aerator shuts off at 4am when Co2 comes on.  All my plants look good and like I said my Algae is dying off but I feel as if the plants could do better if I knew what colors should be more prominent than others.Tank is Full of Guppies and Taiwan Bee's.  I know the internet says you cant keep shrimp in a Pressurized Co2 system but Im kinda fond of @Cory way of doing things. and doing my own research and so far all my shrimp are doing great. Co2 id about 1 to 2 BPS

  10. I guess I should elaborate a little, This tank is my Taiwan Bee Caridina shrimp tank. I use RODI with Salty Shrimp GH booster.  I used my API GH solution and it came out to like 21* whi h would make sence with what @Solidus1833 wrote.  If im not mistaken 21* equals to around 300ppm

I do have an API Master test Kit ill double check the results and share! Thanks. I do love the product tho! Even if there is an issue for the price Id buy them all dsy long!

f you are referring to the color differences between 75-150-300, I can see where this can be confusing. I see in order; Light blue, blue, darkblue, blurple, purple.

According to your test strip, I would say your at least above 150 maybe higher, since the pad is not necessarily dark purple but not blue either.

I've not jumped in on the test strips yet, as I still like the API master test kit, and only two tanks so I don't need to test tons of tanks in one day. Have you noticed any variance in that color with your water table, or compared the test kit with another brand? This kind of feed back would help @Coryand the Co-op manage discrepancies if there are any. Or alleviate maybe a printing color issue for the card?

  12. I realized nothing makes sense when I switched from sand to stratum cause nothing was growing in that sand, Ive had great luck with the stratum.  A few months later my son wanted to up grade his tank so I got him a 40g aquarium and I used that old sand I had previously swapped out from my tank that I couldnt get anything to grow in.  Any trimmings or plants I didnt want in my tank I threw in my sons and Ill be damned if everything I put in his tank isnt lush green and thriving and I dont get it. Cause with his tank im not fertilizing, no root tabs nothing and everything is exploding with growth.  Now explain that to me.  The light is a cheap amazon light made by Hygger.  Ive recently started running a high tech setup using the Fluval 3.0 and Co2.

  13.   So when I first got into the planted aquarium hobby I started with sand and root tabs!  Everything I planted looked like something out of the walking dead!  So just like the rest of you I found Cory and Aquarium Co-Op on the Tube and boy crap escalated from there to say the least!  I than found out there was a lot more to it than just throwing some plants into some water.  I started learning about macro and micro nutrients and the importance of a good substrate or a well seasoned substrate! I learned there's plants that strive in hard water and there's plants that love softer water!  I learned there's a huge difference between 8hrs of light compared to 10hrs. Its been an up and down journey and for once I feel like I've got a handle on my tanks. Thanks to all that's helped me get this far and for Cory and his team for spending thousands of hours making videos to teach people like myself!  Ill leave a few pics to show my progress!!
