That’s good to hear, I just picked up the Fluval Aquasky which is super bright at 100%, I have a bunch of brown algae building up on the leaves of my plants so I reduced it down to about 25% which is still a decent brightness on top of weekly 25-30% water changes. Hoping that will control the brown algae. Oh I also have a UV light, fingers crossed 🤞🏽

What did you adjust your light settings too?

New addition to Dempsey’s Domain…Picked up a Leopard Sailfin Pleco today at one of the LFS in my area. Also have some brown algae issues starting to happen. The tank is a new setup that I started in October about 3 months ago.

@nabokovfan87 Thank you for the welcome! Unfortunately I’m renting so I don’t want to get a bigger tank just yet. When I do, I want something 180 or bigger…eventually.

@ScandiDefense thank you, I don’t think I’ll add more fishes, once these guys grow out I don’t think they’ll be room to reasonably keep more fish…..unless I get A bigger tank!🤔😜

Recently started this 55 gallon in October 2022. I really wanted to get a Green Terror but could not find a store in WA (Kitsap County) that had them. I ended up getting a juvenile Jack Dempsey and an Electric Blue Jack Dempsey. Later picked up a Geophagus Balzani that was only $2 and I eventually picked up 5 clown loaches. As far as equipment, I am running a Fluval 307 canister with the Fluval UV sterilizer light. I recently upgraded my lighting from the cheap Walmart Led hood cover to a Fluval Aquasky 2.0 which is amazing! phenomenal lighting and the app allows me to set it and forget it. The driftwood I’ve had for about 15 years now and all the plants I purchased from Aquarium Co-Op. Trying to stick to 25% weekly water changes as much as possible. I am starting to get a build up of brown algae on the plant leaves and side of the tank.

Aloha, I’m new to the forum, been into aquariums and fish keeping for a while. Moved around a bit so I currently have 55gal setup for a Jack Dempsey (Jackie Boy), Electric Blue Jack Dempsey (Bugsy), Geophagus Balzani (Gary) and 5 clown loaches. I look forward to interact with everyone on this forum.
