  1. Thank you @mynameisnobody ๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™m going to check the options they have to purchase it
  2. I'm glad you have had success, first time I hear about this medication, Thank you for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚. I looked it up and saw that it treats various diseases which is great, I'm going to purchase it to try it out. Do you use it for all types of fish or just Cichlids?
  3. Thank you very much @Colu, I haven't noticed any more camallanus worms which hopefully means that I eradicated this parasite. I will do this, Thank you again!
  4. Last time I treated them with Levamisole was last year in October for Camallanus Red Worms. I did a total of 8 treatments of Levamisole and 2 treatments of prazipro. The first 4 treatments of Levamisole, I did it last year in March along with two treatments of prazipro, at this time the platys were much smaller, but had to discontinue these two meds because my fish got really stressed out and started developing Ich. Then, after a few months of no meds, I did again another 4 treatments of Levamisole late September but not prazipro. During the course of treating Levamisole, I had a bare bottom tank and I would blackout out the tank for 24 hrs. I did lose two fish about two weeks ago but I think it was because of the low Nitrite levels and currently all my other fish are active and eating well except for this juvenile platy. I noticed on Tuesday that I was feeding blood worms, that this platy would take in food but then spit it out.
  5. @Colu, I have a juvenile platy that is very skinny, has hollow belly, and swimming somewhat hunched over. Last week that I tested my water parameters, everything was fine except for Nitrite, there was low levels of Nitrite, which I did a water change afterwards but then within a few days, I noticed this platy started getting skinny. Do you think this can be Fish TB? My fish have been treated with levamisole and prazipro in the past
  6. Good to know, Thank you for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™m going to do that of testing my tap water in a cup and Iโ€™ll keep you all posted ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. Thank you very much, I will keep you guys posted on how things go and again, I really appreciate your help ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. I did this off-gassing test almost two years ago but in another tank, not in my betta tank. There was a big difference in Ph from my tank water and from coming straight out of the tap. From tap water, even after doing the aeration test, Ph was still pretty high while in my tank, the pH is very low. These were the results using the API Freshwater Test Kit: Sun 8/14/22 Tank water parameters: Ammonia: 0 ppm Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: 0 ppm pH: 6.6 or 6.8 ( It was hard to differentiate the colors if it was 6.6 or 6.8 but looked more like it was 6.6) KH: 35.8 ppm GH: 196.9 ppm Results after testing my tap water ( Tested on 8/14/22) Ph: 7.6 High range ph: 8.4 or 8.8 ( It was hard to differentiate the colors but it looked more like it was 8.8) Kh: 125.3 ppm GH: 161.1 ppm Off-gassing test 24 Hr result (Tested on 8/15/22 (Mon after letting my tap water sit for 24 hrs with an air stone): pH: It was either 7.6 or 7.2 but looked more like it was 7.6 High range: 8.0 KH: 143.2 ppm GH: 179 ppm Water parameters of my tank after doing 50% water change yesterday on Tue (8/15/22): pH: 7.2 KH: 53.7 ppm GH: 143.2 ppm I'm going to do this test in my betta tank and share the results here, I will keep you posted
  9. Thank you so much for sharing. Last time I did a water change, pH went from a 6.6 to a 7.4 and from there I decided I wanted to try this to see if the Ph can stay more stable in the 6 range. Is this the peat that you use from Fluval?
  10. Hello everyone, I was reading a post of someone stating that they use peat in their filter to maintain the pH in their blackwater tanks. What are your experiences with using peat in filters? I've heard of peat but I've never used it. Does it really keep the pH stable? What brands of peat do you use and recommend? Reason I want to try this out is because I have a 7 gallon blackwater tank with only 1 male half-moon betta with lots of botanicals and last time I tested my water parameters, pH was at a 6.4 but sometimes when I do water changes, the Ph changes drastically and I want to avoid this from happening again. I already have pretty soft water with kH ranging from 1-3 and gH from 6-8 using the API Freshwater Test kit.
  11. I'll post a picture tomorrow with the other side of the head, the little guy is sleeping now. I really appreciate for responding @nabokovfan87 ๐Ÿ™‚ . I hope its nothing bad ๐Ÿ˜ž Its just werid because he didn't have that or noticed any growth in that area, it just appeared there yesterday. These picture that I have included here are picture of when he didn't have that, I took these picture on Christmas day
  12. Hello Fishkeepers, I hope everyone had a great holiday and Happy New Year! ๐Ÿฅณ I have a longfin Half-moon betta, he's my first betta. I love this little guy. He is in a 7 gallon tank and he's the only inhabitant in there. Yesterday before I did a water change, I noticed he had something under his chin, it looks like a lump but honestly don't know what it is. First time I see this. From the short time I've had him, I've never seen this on him. So far, he's active and eating but this just appeared on him yesterday. I woke up and this lump was there. Has this ever happened to anyone betta before? If so, please help me know what this is and how can I treat it. I have included some picture in this post for you guys to see. Thank you in advance
  13. Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ @Chick-In-Of-TheSea, Thankfully I don't have any snails in my tank Thank you @Allan, I'm going to do this ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. Awh that's very kind of you @Guppysnail, Thank you very much ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿฅน. Let me know, I will buy them. They will eventually stop eating their fry, just give them time. Wishing you the best of luck on them giving you fry!
  15. I had one Laetacara curvicep in my community tank, he was a peaceful fish and very shy. He was one of my first Cichlids. Unfortunately, he passed away last week due to an injury and I'm devastated ๐Ÿ˜”. I miss seeing him in my tank. They are beautiful fish and good for a community tank. Wishing you luck on them giving you fry. Enjoy them!
  16. Hello fishkeepers, ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you in advance
  17. Thank you very much for sharing, I just read the article. It seems like Levamisole in water is effective but can also be a bit harmful according to the article. I'm going to give this recipe a try. I was reading some posts here about how someone stated that they read an article stating that Fenbendazole in food is more effective in killing worms that are living inside the fish intestines than adding Levamisole in water which is why I wanted to give them Fenbendazole as an extra step to make sure I completely eliminate these worms and they don't come back ever again. I will give you guys an update on how things go @Guppysnail and @nabokovfan87 Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you @nabokovfan87 I'm going to checkout some videos ๐Ÿ™‚
  18. Hello, One of my fish tanks recently underwent treatment for camallanus worm using Expel-P and currently another one of my tanks are also undergoing this treatment. The Expel-P medication seems to be working but I wanted to use Panacur C Canine Dewormer (Fenbendazole) a few times as a extra step to be completely certain the I eradicated this parasite since I heard that if given Fenbendazole in food, it will actually kill the Camallanus worm instead of paralyzing them like Levamisole does. How do you guys use this Panacur C Canine Dewormer (Fenbendazole) for camallanus worm? How is it suppose to be given to the fish? What is the treatment plan when using this med? Have you guys had success treating camallanus worm using Panacur C Canine Dewormer (Fenbendazole)? After treating them Fenbendazole, is it recommended to disinfect everything in the tank? Should I toss out driftwood, filter media etc? Thank you in advance
  19. Do you have a heater inside the bowl? I'm asking because I was planning on using it temporarily as a planted aquarium but than maybe after a few months add a few inhabitants and I wanted to make sure the glass won't crack if this bowl is heated.
  20. Thank you! Going to check it out @Biotope Biologist
  21. Hello fish-keepers, I've seen hobbyists use fish bowls to use it as a planted aquarium but I've been having a hard time finding a suitable stable one. I wanted to know if anyone here has used fish bowls and where did you purchase it? Thank you in advance
  22. Thank you so much @Odd Duck for all your help and for also being here for me in this difficult moment. I know people might say its just a fish but to us fishkeepers, they are more than that. I'm going to go purchase the clove oil so that the poor little guy no longer suffers, again, thank you and really appreciate all your help @Odd Duck, @Colu, and @nabokovfan87. It really means a lot
  23. Thank you @Colu, Iโ€™m going to consider doing this because he hasnโ€™t improved and he seems like heโ€™s suffering. Thank you @Colu and @nabokovfan87 for your help and words of encouragement, it really means a lot. You guys are the best
