That one tank that is amazing, that grows plants like nobody's business, that the fish love, that the shrimp love, that just thrives....
    but it is ugly.

This is the perfect description of the tank below. It was never intended to be a permanent setup, I want to re-purpose it every day, but I don't, because it's doing so great. Less than 5g of water, thriving fish, breeding shrimp, pearling plants. Crazy overstocked, with an inch of a foam for the filter, unheated and right next to the window, and yet it works and requires less maintenance than other tanks. Maybe mother nature is telling me something about my fish keeping skills with this tank...😁

  2. Meet Cream and Sugar, two full-white half-moon males (possibly brothers)

Cream is a bit camera-shy but very curious about guppies in the tank right next to his:

Sugar is more vivacious and aggressive (or maybe he is feeling safer/territorial due to his tank overgrown with green spot algae).

Can I put the live baby brine that I don’t use in the fridge and keep them for a few days?

Yes if you don't mind slightly less nutritious BBS.

I always keep half of my hatched BBS in the fridge for the next day feeding, never had a problem keeping them alive. I use a flat petri-dish-like container with fresh brine (~teaspoon salt per 200ml or so), half filled so there is plenty of air in it. The fridge shelf I put them on is the warmest one (more cold results in less-lively BBS, they sink to the bottom of the container). Below is the BBS after a day or two in the fridge, the container has shrimp hatched from approximately 1.5g of eggs. BBS-container.jpg.9fe1276c74d4ef343394aae7530cf2ff.jpg

  4. Ahh, great-looking guppies, everyone! Who wouldn't love to keep such lively, colorful, easy, and adorable fishes?? Well, me, apparently... 😁 After trying hard with several strains of guppies and endlers the only guppies I keep these days are these  yellow sisters :) Love their golden color, and love that the babies are all golden from the birth.

Do you like Korean food? It’s mostly protein and veg based.

😲 Korean cuisine is based on rice and noodles... Most of the side dishes (banchan) made of vegetables also have sugar in them.

Some soups and Korean-style bbq is low carb though. For the bbq just grill small pieces of meat of your choice (traditional is duck breast or pork belly), wrap them up in lettuce leaves (perilla leaves, originally) with a slice of raw garlic and a bit of red korean chili sauce (Gochujang) and eat immediately.

Can anyone help me to identify a mineral/rock which melted in my aquarium?

I can't identify it, but I have a story to tell about a rock that looked very much like yours. So in a local park near me there are many signs/panels that I thought were made of white marble or granite -- white, sparkly mineral with gray veins. The last summer several of these panels broke into pieces. They were just laying around for several weeks and eventually I decided to pick some up and maybe use them in my tanks. But the mineral/material crumbled in my hands like moist sugar.

My guess is that 1) it was an artificial marble imitation material; 2) it was made of marble particles held together by a glue or cement and 3) the last summer was unusually rainy and the water destroyed the "glue".

I do not understand why they have such deep round bodies if they are male, and it has made it very hard for me to divide them into my male and female tanks

The body shape is not that important, the shape of the anal fin is what matters. Some of my guppies developed gonopodiums very late, ~3 months old, and before that it was very hard to sex them. Your fishies on the photo can be so called "chesty" males (if their anal fins are gonopodiums).  Guppies have no concept of eating too much and when young guppies are fed a LOT of fatty foods, males can develop this type of plump-ish body shape.

At 2+ months old, the males are larger than most of my adult guppies but have no noticeable color other than very slight yellow or white shading on the top and bottom of the caudal fin.

To be honest, those on the photo look a lot like female guppies to me, especially the one in the middle...can be just me though.

Here is my plainest strain, male and female.
