Ken
All the sudden I have nerite snail eggs all over. The snails have been in there nearly a year without laying eggs that I have noticed. If I move the female to another tank will she continue to lay eggs without the male in the same tank? I'd like to determine who is who.
Yanni
I believe that nerites will lay eggs either way. If nerites are happy, they'll lay eggs.
SWilson
Yes the female will lay eggs without a male present. I have a single nerite and have eggs all over. The larvae will not hatch, or if they do, will not survive unless in brackish water though (so says the internet). I recently tried scraping the eggs off of some driftwood, and while the actual eggs popped off pretty easily, it still left behind some marks that were difficult to remove.
