FrostiesFishes
Hello, I wanted some opinions of this angelfish’s health. I checked the water and everything is reading o ppm before and after the water change. But she is very swollen and doesn’t seem to be eating. But she also haven’t laid eggs in at least three weeks. Also odd as she was spawning every 14 or so days. And I’m starting to think she has pop eye but I’m not real sure, I put some salt in the tank at 2 tablespoons for the twenty gallon. And have been feeding frozen brine and bbs to try and she if it is bloat. Any ideas?

FrostiesFishes
After some serious research in my fish med books and online. I’m fairly certain that it is dropsy. The signs being bloat and possibly pop eye. I suspect I dropped the temp to much during the water changes recently and caused stress to the fish and she got it from a bacteria that is as I understand it always in aquariums. The info I’ve found says a qt/salt bath tho, I think I’m past that point. It also recommends Erythromycin and if it is a gram negative bacteria to use Amoxicillin and I can’t get that locally (chewy has it online) And I really don’t know how to tell if it is gram negative? But hopefully this info will help someone in the future searching for answers about bloat/drop set. And anyone with experience with curing this or info please feel free to respond as to what or how to tell if a bacteria is gram negative.
Colu
I would Qarantine and treat with aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons and maracyn it difficult to tell if it gram positive or negative bacterial infection maracyn treat gram positive so if maracyn doesn't work try maracyn2 or kanaplex they treat gram negative bacterial infection
