JaredL
This is my friend's (rubber lip?) pleco. It appears overweight. I didn't think fish got overweight, just bloated. Behavior is normal and it still eats. It has looked this way for at least a few weeks(possibly before then). So my question is: is this just a fat pleco? Is it possibly suffering from a medical issue? Or is this just normal appearance?

Hobbit
Has he tried fasting the pleco for 2-3 days? It will still have lots of biofilm to eat on the rocks and such, so the pleco won’t be starving by any means. If the pleco’s bloated, a fast might help it. If it’s just fat or has dropsy, a 2-3 day fast probably won’t do anything. Also do you know how its poops look?
JaredL
Sorry for late reply. I don't have much info as he's not what I would consider an "aquarium enthusiast". I've told him to cut back on feeding. Will be going back there today to get an update. Thanks for the feedback guys!
