FishyMike
I do have a moderately planted tank will the carbon eliminate trace elements needed? on there website it also talks about purigen. i have been only using the matrix it came with and crushed coral and it seems to be doing good but I got a pair of Apistos and read somewhere that you should use some sort of carbon filter??. BlackLabelCarling
At my work (aquarium maintenance) we make "chemi-pure" media bags with charcoal and purigen. Sometimes we add it to the filter, but most the time we bury it in the substrate and just use filter pads in the HOB.
