FishyJames
I have 4 nerite snails and an infestation of miniature white snails in a 55 gallon planted tank. What would be the best way of ridding myself of the ugly tiny snails. I know I will have to relocate the nerites if chemicals are used. What would you do? FrozenFins
create a snail trap. yes you will trap the nirites, but you can just pull ehm out. Get a plastic waterbottle and a cucucmber and put the cucumber in the bottle, and there you go!!
lefty o
assassin snails. no matter what method you use, if you want to keep the nerites, they will have to relocate elsewhere during the hunt.
Marc
What are these miniature white snails, do you have a pic? I have an infestation too, I would love to get rid of them. Mine are something like a ramshorn whose shell lays flat. Edited December 11, 2020 by Marc add pic

Larrimore
Some loaches will take care of them but the nerites would have to go elsewhere...or embrace the ugly and let them clean for you. I have them in every tank, except the cichlid tank...cause the cichlids removed them.
shkote
@Marc those are Gyraulus snails, from the same family as the typical Ramshorn snails that people are used to seeing, but different genus. I've seen them called false Ramshorns, Mini Ramshorns, in my house they are puffer snacks. They are also bulletproof little buggers. Assassin snails can take them out pretty easily, provided they can keep up with them. They multiply like crazy.

Yes they multiply like crazy in this 15g tank, I get rid of at least 50 a week and there are always more. I fear they are outcompeting the corydora fry in the tank, I may go with the assassin snails and see if they can make a dent. I don't mind some, but these just don't stop coming.
