Replacement 29 Gallon Trim

I got a second hand 29 Gallon Aquarium and the half of the bottom trim. I have tried calling pet stores to see if they had any damaged aquariums that they couldn't sell and I could pilfer the trim but they apparently have to throw those out right away.

Could I remove the top trim and put it on the bottom to water test and then go without the top trim or if there anything else I should try or place to get full replacement cheaper than a dollar per gallon whole tank replacement.

I would buy a new 29 for $29 it's cheaper

Saving the glass and the trim on a tank with glass that thin is very difficult.

You can use the glass for lids or other projects if you decide to dismantle
