Can you use a metal air valve instead of micro valve to collect baby brine shrimp?

I'm thinking of hatching brine shrimp with a DIY hatchery and metal air valves would just be a lot easier to get a hold of. Would they leak brine shrimp or no?

If your plan is to release shrimp from bottom of a hatchery by gravity fall through a metal valve, It could work if you keep it all from leaking.

It wouldn’t just have to be air valves. Valves made for liquids may work better. You could go to Lowe’s or home depot, check into what they have. Thinking something like a small diameter pex tubing valve. Or other. Maybe find the valve you think will work and reverse engineer it from there.
