J. Holmes Posted January 2 Share Posted January 2 I’ve been battling Blackbeard in this tank a while. I’ve reduced it dramatically, but still have some problem spots in my Java fern. I’ve always had this black algae on my Java fern. Do I need to just heavily prune and cut all that out? Will the carbon eventually treat it? Guppysnail Posted January 3 Share Posted January 3 Use freshly opened seltzer. Submerge your Java fern for 9-12 hours in the dark weighted down uncovered. Place fern back in the tank.
