kasa smart plug - android firm ware update locks up

Has anyone else had this problem?  On setup, the final step was to "update the firmware"  It hangs at 75% all day.  I had to "force stop" It's working but I don't dare try the firm updates.

I use a ton of the Kasa timers both for aquarium lights and at my work. Typically the update is very quick and I personally haven’t had an issue where it locks up. I use an iPhone, though

This of it as an issue where it gets to step 4 out of 5 and it's just hanging.  You did the right thing by hard resetting it, but it's also something where power cycle everything, the device, the phone, and the internet, and give it another shot. 

It happens.  If you need me to I can try one of mine and give it a shot.  I don't think I've updated them in a while.

Ah, thanks to both of you.  nabokovfan87, if you need an update and have an android, I would love to hear how it goes.  🙂

It could be something as simple as turn on location in settings. I've had this happen in a couple of apps during setup and my location setting was off. After setup you can switch location back off.
