Harpsandfish
How do you all feed frozen daphnia, the little square pieces kind? I have a new (two weeks) 20 gallon tank with tetras, Lambchop Rasboras, 1 reticulated hillstream loach, 2 honey Gouramis, 4 Amano shrimp. It is a planted tank, and the water test numbers are consistently good. I have seen advice that says thaw first, other that says just shave off the amount you need and drop it right in. Other advice mentions that the water they come in may be high in PO4. Thoughts? Thanks! Edited November 12, 2020 by Harpsandfish
Fonske
I toss a frozen cube into a tiny container (about 20ml or so) with water, the cube thaws almost immediately, then I feed several tanks using a pipette. If I need less than a cube, I wiggle it in the water for a second or so. When enough daphnia is in the water, the rest of the cube goes into a tiny ziplock bag and back into the freezer. I try not to keep the semi-used cubes for long.
