Miska
My bestie just got a Cory cat set and one of them came from a different tank but the employee said it was a pepper corycat. She just wants a confirm because they don’t look like the others she got. Help?

Johannes
Aspidoras are quite difficult to identify but planet catfish is a good site
Lennie
Btw, Idk what "cory cat set" refers to, but all corydoras only school with on their own sub species. So your friend should get a group of min 6 of each corydora and not mix one or two from each. They don't school like that. Like you can't get one albino, 2 pandas, one sterbai, one bronze and call it a school. So just in case this is the issue, I would highly recommend them choosing the one they like and turning the other ones back and getting the same species instead. Miska
She got 6 (what we consider to be a set) but this guy was an oddball so she wanted to double check- thank you so much!!! She emailed the store last week but they don’t open until Thursday so she’ll call then.
Lennie
Aspidoras also need a school, just like corys! So yea, It would be the best get another one for the cory school and turn aspidora back to its friends 🙂 Edited February 13, 2023 by Lennie

Miska
Thank you all. I’m waiting three months or so for panda cories lol. I’ll let her know she’s gonna fix it.
Lennie
Looking at the picture again, I can't see its barbels, maybe it is the angle. Does it have a sucker mouth? I am now suspecting it may be a chinese algae eater lol. A bit pale looking juvinile. But I guess not. The mouth structure would make it clear, but again, she will be giving it back anyway Edited February 13, 2023 by Lennie
nabokovfan87
Tail pattern looks slightly different (detail is on the edge vs. the entire tail). It might be that type of catfish, but I don't think it's that specific C number.
