Why stop feeding during medication trio? What if you can't stop them from eating?

I'm about to buy some pea puffers and am planning to use medication trio before deworming them.

The problem is that my quarantine tank has lots of small ramshorn snails, so I can't prevent them from eating. 

What's the reason for not feeding during the medication trio treatment?

The idea is that if they're eating and feeding themselves, they're also eating and feeding the internal parasites that they have. I too have lots of snails in my quarantine tank so I wasn't able to stop the little buggers from eating. I simply did two full rounds of parasite treatment a couple weeks apart and haven't had any issues with internal parasites coming back and I've had them for... gosh... a couple years now, so I think you'll be good! I always like to do double parasite rounds for puffers anyway, just to be safe!

It’s to keep good water quality. Often qt tanks are not fully cycled or the meds disrupt the bio-filtration. It’s not about fasting them as much as not adding food that could cause water quality issues. Hope that explains. Some worming meds fasting helps them to pass the worms more easily.
