Mystery snail shell question

Is this ridge/impression normal for my mystery snail Bluey?  It is active and has doubled its size. I keep a small wonder shell in the 20g at all times.

It looks to me like it was from a change in water parameters, maybe the change from the store tank to yours?

Yes the oldest thick growth looks to be from the breeder or wild. Then a thin band from store where it was not getting what it needed then your fabulous care grew nice thick shell again.

New growth is at the shell opening, by it's ... head? Face?

I totally agree that band is from the LFS and middleman that got them to you.  The new grow looks great and you should be proud of your skills!
