Caidenh24
I have a white skirt tetra that like 2 month ago maybe more had a little white dot and it grew to a little bump and I wasn't worried that much because I thought it was cancer and I heard there isn't much you can about cancer. and eventually it spread to like the line almost of that like tissue. So it spread from a bump of tissue to like a line and a bump. I was going to make a post on it earlier but I have been so busy and have been forgetting or I will be to tired to post and everything about it. But recently it started to look like it is bleeding almost and before I was a little worried but I thought it was like a cancer and there was nothing I could do about it. But now it doesn't look like cancer. What is this? Will it spread to other fish? Thanks!
Colu
It could be some type of growth what I would do is a course of maracyn2 in food active ingredient is minocycline that has proven effective at sinking some types of lumps

My fish isn’t by itself so will it be fine if the other fish eat it? Also is it contagious to other fish? Thanks!
Colu
You have two options as the other fish aren't showing any similar symptoms you could Qarantine and treat separately as exposure to unnecessary medication can be stressful to healthy fish or if you don't have a Qarantine you could treat the main tank I think it's unnecessary if it were contagious you would have seen other fish showing similar symptoms by now I would Qarantine the sick fish and treat separately if possible Edited June 30, 2022 by Colu

Colu
You could but that would very stressful to already sick fish being caught every day for treatment you could get a breeder box and put him in that in the main tank that way you don't have catch and you can feed him the medicated food @Caidenh24

Colu
If you only have a breeder box I would use that if you have a Qarantine tank then I would put him in that

Brandon p
There is some advice for next time. But a 3g rubber- made and you can use it as a QT. That is going to be bigger than a breeder box. I use water from the tank if I have to set one up and add some water like a water change

I have the shortest sponge filter that the co-op has. I think the smallest one is taller that the next size up. So you are looking for the shortest one. I do take of f the lift tube. I think up would be fine with a air stone, but that what I use but I have it. Then I use a usb air pump with a valve on the line just to control the air. If I have a fish that need more flow. For yours it just need a ton but as long as the water is not moving all over the place. You can use and size rubber container I said 3 because I think that’s the smallest and if you aren’t buying or QT fish all the time it’s fine. 16 Quart Basic Clear Storage Box with White Lid https://a.co/d/3n9Fwi6 something like this you want the container to 8 or9 inches tall. Is one is 4 gallons. Anything else I had be happy to help I can send a pic tomorrow

Brandon p
Yes. Here are a few pics of what I use. Is has a one male guppy that is in timeout. I have it set-up all the one. You can see the water low you want more water. It’s normally almost full. A friend uses one of these giant cheese puff containers in the same way.

Caidenh24
I have another question. Do you think that this is deadly? Thanks!
Colu
As it slowly progressing a don't think it will kill your fish anytime soon and using the medication I suggested may resolve the issue

I think it might be Lymphocystis or a tumor of some sort. I have seen that if it is a tumor that there isn't really a cure and it isn't that deadly or harmful. It was a bump and now it grew like tissue almost all the way to the body. What do you think that is? Can that be some tumor also? Thanks!
Colu
It could be a benign growth or a foreign body that has caused tissue to react or a cancerous growth it's difficult to no for sure without taking cell cultures or tissue samples

Colu
It were something has gotten into the the tissue causing a reaction it could be a small splinter say it swim into a piece of wood in the tank it can be so small you may not be able to see it with the naked eye Edited July 3, 2022 by Colu
