Goosedub
Good morning, My female Hemichromis Exsul developed a lack of pigment at her anus (vent). Is this a sign of illness? I can’t find much info about it.
Fish Folk
First off: Oh my! Those are unbelievably gorgeous. I've never seen Jewels so lovely. Have they spawned for you? I'm wondering out loud if she's scraped herself trying to lay eggs on a rough surface? Even if it's not a sickness, per say, there's always the possibility that she could develop bacterial infection if it's a scrape. Not going to lie . . . IMHO these are some of the best looking fish I've seen photos of recently here on the Forum. 1

I have 2 pair of them and have gotten 1 fry so far. 1
Fish Folk
Do you know where / on what they’re spawning in your tank?
Torrey
It almost looks like she tried laying eggs on a heater. Is your heater in the tank? If yes, it is in a cage? Agree with Fish Folk, gorgeous pair!
Goosedub
No clue. I ended up losing the female. No idea what happened to her so I am bummed. Now I have 2 males and a female.
