Mr Gumby
I'm picking up some shrimp at the weekend from a local hobbyist who's closing down their fish room. I noticed they also have three glowlight danios which is obviously not a good number however assuming they aren't all the same sex and of breeding age how hard are they to spawn? I have had plenty of success breeding celestial pearl danios so if they're similar I'd feel much more confident giving it a shot
Griznatch
Mine spawn all the time, but they are so fast most of the eggs or fry get eaten. I think I've had 4 or 5 make it to adulthood in the last few years. That's with no interference on my part and just letting them do their own thing. Mr Gumby
Sounds promising, I use the tub with gravel and moss method with my CPD's so should work with glowlights I'd imagine
modified lung
I just started to breed glowlight last month. So far they are similar to CPDs but more difficult to collect eggs. It seems they don't spawn in plants like CPDs but instead around plants. I put a shallow container with a grated cover next to thick patch of plants and it catches around 10 eggs every couple days. I'm still figuring it out though.
WhitecloudDynasty
They spawn in a group chasing..so they really don't need plants to spawn, just an target. If it's a bare bottom aquarium with nothing but a small brush plant they will spawn all around it and over it
Mr Gumby
Good to know @WhitecloudDynasty , I'm kind of hoping they'll do what my emerald dwarf Rasbora did and spawn in my Qt tank and make me look like a master breeder 😁
