Mark C.
Hey everyone, I just started using Poly-Fil in my HOB filter, Seachem Tidal 55. I have it inside a media bag in hopes of cutting down on the fibers getting into the aquarium. Well, the fibers are floating around in the aquarium anyway. I have a pre filter sponge on the main intake but not the skimmer intake. Anyone ever had this issue using poly-fil? I’m trying to clear up my water.
Jacob Hill-Legion Aquatics
Yeah I used to have that, it’s a pain so I switched over to normal filter floss that comes in a big roll, it doesn’t leave those fibers cause it’s just a pad and you can just cut it to size. I like it so much better.
nabokovfan87
I use the sheets of filter material. I think it's the same brand and material but just in a sheet form. There is also aquarium specific fine pads you can use. Seachem also sells fine pads for tidals.
StevesFishTanks
Look for the polyfil "quilt batting" it comes as a sheet that you can cut and fold to your required shape and size.
