tnnlynch
It died to the substrate after planting but sent out a sprout after two weeks - I had assumed it was dead. The pink flamingo is now about the diameter of a quarter after 3 months. Eco-complete substrate with root tabs added near it. Lights are a fluval 3 and a finnex 247 on a 29g. i would not expect light is the issue. Do pink flamingo's just grow poorly without co2?
Expectorating_Aubergine
Is the sprout pink? Mine have always converted to the regular form...
Jennifer V
Dying to get this plant! From what I understand and my own experience, crypts grow very slowly, especially at first when they are adjusting to the new environment. It might just need some time. I know three months seems like a lot, but I have a parva that is only now showing noticeable growth after a year. As with other crypts, I don't think CO2 is necessary.
tnnlynch
Nope. Green leaves. This is slower than any crypt I have ever grown. This tank is a low tech tank. Scarlet Temple has done so-so in this tank while it was guns blazing in my previous co2 tank. I am beginning to think this is a similar result. laritheloud
Pink Flamingo is a very slow, small grower for me. It looks perfectly healthy and has the pink color, but growth lags noticeably behind my other crypts. I have a 55 gallon high tech tank for reference and make sure it gets unobstructed light and root tabs in inert sand substrate.
