Breeding SAEs?

Hello Co-Op community! This is my first post and I could really use your help! 
 

I recently started to notice some breeding behavior from my goldfish and some eggs that were fertile on some plants. I took them out and was going to put them in a tub with metholyene blue. As I was collecting the eggs, they literally started to hatch in the collection cup. I was like ok I’ll just try to make a Master Dean breeder tub. I spent a couple hours putting together a setup to raise them up. 
I was noticing today that they were sucking on the edge of the glass. They also do not look like goldfish fry. Much longer, slender bodies with a slight black line. I realized these are not goldfish but Siamese Algae Eaters (SAEs)!!! I have 3 in my goldfish tank that are over 2 years old. There is plenty of info out there for raising goldfish fry but not so much for SAEs. Most articles say it’s not possible or that there is no research to help. 
I have supplies to raise fry and they seem to be doing ok at the moment. I have some spirulina powder I may try to feed, I just don’t know when.. They seem to have a yolk sac but I have no idea how long they last.

Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated. I’m hoping someone has had success with this..

Congratulations! Honestly I had the same issue with my Otocinclus Vittatus and having babies was MY first post here! So welcome to the club! I crushed the same food that my adults were eating (in my case Hikari Algae wafers) between 2 spoons and have raised several Oto babies since. The powder should work, and any crushed adult food. There may be others here who have suggestions as well!

Congratulations on the success with the Ottos! I had a few Ottos breed for me as well (on accident too lol). They were in a small tank I just topped off the water and dropped a wafer in here and there. I pulled out the plants to rescape and put them in another breeding tank and they started showing up! None of mine made it though. I been having a lot of success getting fish to breed but am trying to learn to raise them up better. I just traded my fist batch of Endlers recently at my local fish store. I would like to breed my Ranchus at some point too. 

I’ll definitely try some crushed wafers and more spirulina. I also make a gel food with that too. Do you know if they might munch on the gel food?

It's worth a shot, I've been doing that for my more recent Otos and they seem like they occassionally munch on it. Giving them a variety will give them a better chance at survival too!

I have used the Repashy Spawn nd Grow for fry.  I prepare the gel the way the package says to and I've also just added the food to the aquarium water after grinding it between my fingers.  I swish it around in the water so it doesn't all float.  The fry eat it this way and I haven't seen any fry turn it down so far (guppy, danio, corydoras)

Spirulina is a good first food and is widely available - i just put in 1/16 of a tsp to start. Pulverized algae wafers - I keep a mortar and pestle just for this purpose and make sure it is powdered. The Sera Onip tabs are not as good as the old ones on the glass but pulverized are great first or second food.
