I've only studied up on this before -- never actually done it. I'd defer to other breeders. @WhitecloudDynasty may know. I think they may spawn at first light. They can be bred in small tanks, storage bins, or clean baking bowls with lots of plants. Males chase females. The wiggling and aggression is pretty evident. Once you've witnessed enough to ensure that the female is releasing roe and the male is releasing milt, you're probably good to remove the adults. I think I recall some leave them together for 48-72 hrs.
WhitecloudDynasty
They will breed right after the cold winter, so early spring. When he start driving the female that when you place them in a spawning pond/container.only take 1 spawn, 1 day. I hand spawn mine, you'll get more fry, more control.
