All old people are required to share photos with everyone of their new grandkids so I thought I would….😁

Longfin lemon blue eyed bristlenose  pleco had a good hatch so I worked hard to grow biofilm and infusoria in the tank. I was looking today at the few early escapee BN fry and found 5 free swimming CPD roaming about the tank 😁

@CrabbyNo first time dad. When they hatched they shot out like a BB gun. He flew out looking for them but they went different directions hubby just gave me a submersible endoscopic camera for my bday so hopefully tomorrow I’ll get in cave pics

Wow, so young! Is that just bad parenting from the father?

Here are some of mine, from eggs all the way to the first one to leave the cave. They looked pretty similar to your lemons at first!

Those are some really awesome photos! How many days from the day they had defined eyes until they emerge? How old from hatch day is the first emergent one? That is such a beautiful baby.

Thank you! I’ve been thinking about making a little video to document it all, since I got a load of video footage. I’m not sure what you mean by your first question, as they all seemed to have defined eyes upon hatching. If their eyes were somewhat visible while in their eggs, I don’t think I would have ever seen it, even if I was looking for them! Dad was just doing such a great job photobombing! 😂

I just checked the dates of my photos and it looks like the first one emerged a week after hatching. I had 3 more emerge yesterday (8 days), and I’ll probably have a few more today, although I might not be able to officially count anymore if they start emerging and hiding in the driftwood instead of sticking to the grass for me to ogle at!

These were the best I could quickly get with the submersible camera. Dad fish was NOT having it in his baby cave.

Wow, are those as many babies as I think? It looks like hundreds! Either that or you’re using a clay cave and my eyes are getting confused. Awesome perspective though!

@CrabbyYes clay. From what I seen guessing 80-100. Escapees were yolk mouth tail only. No eyes

Wow, that’s super interesting. My first video I have of my fry, taken on what I assume was hatching day, shows fry with eyes. How old are your escapees now? Do they have eyes yet?

Also WOW, 80-100? That’s awesome! I think I’ve got 30-50, not sure how I’d handle double of that. Congrats on the big spawn.
