Easy green and root tabs

Do I need to use both for dwarf chain swords? Im confused if they just do the same thing, or if one can't be without the other

Plants feed both at their roots and in the water column. That being said, a plant like a dwarf chain sword will benefit more from root feeding. If you had to go with only one, I'd go with root tabs only. Think of it like having your main meal and having snacks laying around too.

Hello @nerdbruh, certain plants prefer to eat at their roots while others prefer the liquid fertilizers like @theotheragentm said. Plants that propagate through runners tend to prefer to feed at their roots like swords, vallisneria, dwarf sag, plants with bulbs and similar. Typically stem plants, epiphyte plants (anubias, java fern, mosses etc) and floating plants prefer to feed from liquid fertilizer like easy green. If you only have dwarf chain swords in your aquarium, I would only use root tabs.
