Leslie
I’m wondering if it’s possible to attach my driftwood to the inside of the tank. I want it to hang down like a branch. Would super glue work?
JakeH
I would use aquarium silicone. It you ever want to change it up it should be easy enough to scrape off and you don’t have to worry about chemicals.
Ken
I have found that wood decomposes enough that after a several months the super glue isn't holding any more. I've had slightly better luck with silicone. My advise would be to find a way to hold it in place without adhesives.
xXInkedPhoenixX
This is where my jimmy rigging might come in handy....often when I buy new wood even after boiling it floats. SO I use suction airline tube holders- cut a small piece of airline to sit in the bracket. THEN I string fishing line through the airline and tie it to the wood at the point where it would be closest to the glass. Then voila! I suction it to the wall of the tank and it stays. It's also great when I have to move things, but for my purposes I can eventually just cut the line because the wood now stays in place. I also use this trick to tie Anubias to my aquarium. The suction cups are typically unnoticed and I can take out my Anubias or move them at will.
Leslie
Thank you so much for the suggestions. The suction cup idea sounds good so I can move the wood around later if I want.
xXInkedPhoenixX
Glad to be of service. What I like about this particular idea is that most of us have that stuff on hand so there's no store run needed. If it's a big piece you may have to string a couple/few but I've never had it fail. Hobbit
I also use the suction cup method. I drill holes in my driftwood to loop the fishing line through. I highly recommend it—though I do have the suction cups come loose every once in a while. It’s a pretty large piece of wood with a lot of buoyancy. No matter though—I just suction it back on. 👍
