Jack
I have been wondering for the past few days if my betta has fin rot and finally decided to take it to this forum. One thing to note is that black ring has seemed to stay constant and not get worse for the few days that I have noticed it.
Daniel
As they say, it is not a bug, it is a feature. They is just one of the many kinds of normal pigmentation you can get with bettas. It is actually quite attractive to my eye!
Ben_RF
This may be part of his pigmentation. It looks to be as such. A few years ago I was so concerned about a betta, and put him through the battery trying to cure his fin rot all to later realize that it was part of his pigmentation. His fin nipping was also making me think it may have been fin rot too. Anyhow, after finally learning what type of betta he was (mustard gas), I was then able to learn it was part of his pigmentation. We have been happily ever after since, even if on occasions he still fin nips.
