Tyler LaZerte
I set this aquarium up last Saturday (getting some plants on Saturday) and was wondering: Do these look like diatoms? I'm thinking yes since the top layer of my substrate is Pool Filter Sand and I know diatoms love silica. Tyler LaZerte
@Cory Okay sweet! At least my otos and neos will have something to munch on for a bit when I get them 😁
Administrators Cory Posted May 20, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 20, 2021 It'll probably go away over time. Sand releases a lot of phosphate in the beginning, but that dries up after a month or two usually.
Tyler LaZerte
@Cory That is good to know. It is just starting up and it is a Silica-based and so I was expecting it to start.
