FishObsessed
Is cholla wood good for attaching plants like java fern? Can you just push it down into the wood and let it do it's thing or do you need to use wire? Ive never successfully kept a planted tank but I'm interested in sticking my toe in the water.... Thanks for any input Edited September 10, 2020 by FishObsessed Misspell
MickS77
I think Cholla wood would be perfect for attaching Java Fern to. As long you can wedge the base of the plant in the hole and it doesn't float away you'll be good.

Aquatic Journal
It’s hard to see in this picture but the large piece of wood in here is cholla wood and I have java fern, anubias, and moss attached to it. 6 months later and it is still working great!

Steven Fletcher
I have 2 java ferns and once they produced a ton of baby plants, I glued them to cholla wood and they're all doing great. Once they produce more I plan to either get more cholla wood or glue them to my driftwood. I attached pictures of 2 of my cholla sticks
