I don't know anything about those totes. But if I had something like that I would plumb an elbow up from that drain and then leave a coupling a few inches above your substrate. Then have a few pieces of PVC of different lengths... you can slide them into the coupling, turn the valve, and it drains to the level of whatever pipe you put in. Can guard it for fish if needed.
I have a python that I can setup that can drain or put water in.

Hi everyone; in a previous post i said i gotten some young green sunfish recently. they are only maybe 2 inches big i was thinking of using the 200 Rubbermaid livestock container as an outside tank for them. i was going have it planted with so tiger lilies, anacheris, spiral Vallisneria, rough horsetail and driftwood with some Fissidens fontanus.any thoughts on this making setup better would be appreciated.TIA

looks like a cichlid of some sort.
Google lens was identified them as green sunfish or round tailed paradise fish.
That's why I was asking.

So i have 2 10 gallons, a 15 gallon, and a 5 gallon and i was thinking of just combining of all them into a 40 gallon.so the contents of the tanks are
first 10- 3 indian glass fish
second 10- 5 x-ray tetras and i molly
5 gallon- 5 ember tetras, and a scralet badis
15 gallon- 6 neon tetras, 1 garra flavatra, 1 albino paradise fish.
The 40 gallon is gonna be heavly planted with driftwood and stone. So my paradise fish is actually very mellow and chill. My only concern that might change if i combine the tanks into 1. what contingent plan should i have if it goes south?

Hmm...I have some questions to help guide my suggestion.
Do you want to do some breeding? Lots of breeding? None at all? If it happens it happens?
Do you prefer lots of movement or not?
How colorful are you wanting??
Do you prefer pretty fish or ones with good personality?
I was thinking some bluespotted sunfish or pygmy sunfish along those lines.

I have 8 neon tetras with a bolivan ram on this tank. Could I put a licorice gourami in this tank and things would be peaceful. Thoughts?

I wouldn't do an apistogramma in that. I would a 10 gallon for apistogramma though.i would do a couple scarlet badis. They have a personality of cichlid but in a smaller size.
