  1. I started both of these a while ago, but due to life happening, I ended up leaving them at a former residence unattended for longer than I would have liked. Water levels were pretty low when I recovered them. The java fern and hornwort died, but the anubius all hung on great, and there's a big wild clump of moss now. And the best news, and least two of the pink ramshorns in the bowl made it, and a handful of bladder snails in the jar did as well. Hopefully with regular care they will thrive.

Both bowl and jar need some more cleanup and water top up,  but I'm happy to have them again.

  2. I cut the top off a single serve cereal cup. Made sure it was smooth and washed off any dust. My thinking is; if it's safe to eat out of for humans, it should be safe to float. I'd hope honey bunches of oats doesn't have toxins in their plastic cereal cups.

Edit: It is number 5 plastic which from what I researched seems aquarium safe

  3. Well, after a minor re-scape of both tanks I have mostly been making small adjustments, moving a plant or rock here or there. I'm pretty happy with everything at the moment. Watching my crypts grow.

My goby seems to be doing well. She has made a little sleeping burrow under the biggest rock in the tank, and if I watch at the right time I can see her go to bed in the evening. During the day she is pretty outgoing and entertaining to watch.

Really enjoying the enlarged school of white clouds. 8 standards and 7 gold. Hoping a baby or two emerges eventually. Sometimes I think I see one but it turns out to be a shrimp just hanging with the fish. The shrimp only tank churns along. I must admit I spend most of my time looking at the tank with fish.

Long term plans include a possible 55 gallon next year sometime. My house mate has been falling back in love with the hobby after being out of it for a while.

I've also been toying with the idea of changing my lights. My lights have two tubes, and I'm thinking about removing one and then increasing the time it stays on. (Currently on 8.5 hours). More time to enjoy the fish, but Idk how the plants would respond. I don't want to ruin everything.

I'll tag @Guppysnail who always seems to have something cool going on

  4. I recently got some golds to go with my regulars and they all intermingle just fine. They seem to appreciate the company. There was a decent amount of sparring between males as they figured out the hierarchy, but no actual violence.

  5. Did some work updating this tank a little. Also added 7 gold white clouds to my 8 standard white clouds. I have heard Cory say having a bigger school helps bring out more natural behavior in schooling fish, and that certainly seems to be the case. There is a lot more flaring and sparring going on. Mostly fins out shimmying with an occasional body check. From what I understand that's pretty normal. I've only had them since Monday morning, so things might settle down a little. Also goby is still doing good.

Pic and video. Does this seem like typical behavior? @WhitecloudDynasty
