Crushed corals is perfect for what you are asking for, either mix it in your substrate or put some in your filter.

I only use pipettes, you can get a bag of 300 for like 10 bucks on amazon. I don't really trust the pump head to be pumping out 1ml consistently (sorry Cory)

I like them better planted so they don't become a jumbled mess.

i'm pretty sure that's what it is. Should see egg sacks in the next few days or so, i usually find them along the 4 corners of the tank where the glue is, or on the underside of plant leaves.
