Easy Carbon
WWW.AQUARIUMCOOP.COMEasy Carbon helps fight off algae. Dose 1 pump per 10 gallons every other day for low to medium light...It says algae inhibitor right on the bottle and in the product description.
The active ingredient in easy carbon is glutaraldehyde. It's hotly debated if the carbon it supplies is even capable of being utilized by plants and most agree if it does supply usable carbon it is not a significant source.
It is known however to hurt some plants two of which are noted in the product description.
You're also dosing twice as often as recommended for the amount of light you have on your tank so that's probably not helping.
On the idea of adding root tabs I don't think soil nutrients is the problem because most stem plants are water column feeders and can be grown in inert substrate.
Id try stopping the easy carbon and see if it helps.

What are your water parameters? Anytime there's a problem in my our tank or your asking for advise you should include them. I don't think I've seen @Cory get through a livestream yet without reminding everyone at least twice that that's the first thing to do when somethings wrong.
I'd stop using the easy carbon it's not a fertilizer it's an algae inhibitor and some plants are sensitive to it. Are you running any other additives?

I've had success with omega one supercolor flake as a staple food, but am just about out and am trying bug bites color enhancing flakes next(want to try extreme but refuse to place an order for just one thing so probably next time I run out). The other food in my rotation that have been doing well are omega one frozen baby brine; Hikari mini algae wafers, bottom feeder wafers, freeze dried brine shrimp, fancy guppy pellets and vibra bites; and fluval bug bites for shrimp. For most of my food I buy the largest container available since it's usually the cheapest per ounce and freeze the original container only taking out a months worth at a time which I keep in tiny Tupperware. The flake food I feed every morning though I usually buy 1/2 oz containers and leave it out since I go through it we'll before it would go bad or even stale.

I have an aquaclear 50 in my living room right next to my couch. The loudest noise it makes is the waterfall unless it needs to be cleaned. Occasionally the top used to rattle, but now I keep a container of food resting on top which stopped that

I make my own nano/fry food in a spice grinder. I just put whatever dry food are in my current rotation in and pulse it until it's the size I want. Then I store it in a small squeeze bottle like what the coop puts their fry food in. I also use the spice grinder to break up the flake food I use as my staple food same method just don't go as small then put it back in the original container.

I've got 2-3 inches of dirt capped with 2 inched of play sand. The big thing with deeper dirt is to make sure you fully soak it before capping. If there's any air pockets it will eventually erupt out. Also gasses that build up because of decomposing organics in the dirt will do the same thing. I use a skewer to poke around and release gasses in a controlled manner rather than getting an eruption and dirt all over my tank. Do it immediately before a water change incase any of the gasses are toxic

I have 3 peppered and one emerald in the tank. What is the likelihood that any fry will survive in my community tank. Other tank mates are 1 guppy, 12 neon tetras, 5 otos and 1 blue dream shrimp

So last week I came home and saw my 2 assassin snails I haven't seen in months both out then the next day my rocks were covered in assassin snail eggs.
Tonight I got home and noticed different eggs all over the glass and on plants too! Are these corydoras eggs?

I have a 10g set up to house a bunch of baby Java Fern and extra floaters that I'll make into a shrimp tank. I was hoping that was the next course of action but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some thi g with my water parameters

I've tried twice now to try and establish a shrimp colony in my 29g hex. The first time I had very low gh and kh and the 10 Blue Dreams I got disappeared within 2 weeks. The were also young juveniles when I got them.
I did some research and thought it was the low mineral content that may have caused the problem. I bought wonder shells and ran two of them one after another until both were gone and now run crushed coral in my Hob.
My second attempt was with 5 Blue Dreams, that's all my LFS had gotten in that day. They went about a week before I found one dead then a second a few days after. About a month letter one molted, then the other 2 did. The second 2 went into hiding to molt almost 2 weeks ago and I haven't seen either in a week.
Any ideas why I'm having such difficulty with shrimp?
Tank specs: Dirted (mineralized top soil) and heavily planted 29G Hex, aquaclear 50 w/prefilter sponge and small coop sponge filter
Inhabitants: 2 male guppies, 12 neon tetras, 4 corydoras (3 peppered and 1 emerald), 5 ottocinclus and a ton of I think bladder snails
Water peramiters: taken with tetra 6in1 strips nitrate 20, nitrite 0, gh 300ish maybe a little under, chlorine 0, kh 40 and pH 7ish(it's between the 2 colors)
I do 20% water changes every 2 weeks and dose 1 pump of easy green 3 times a week, 1 pump easy iron a week and 1 cap of excel after water changes.
I feed the bug bites for shrimp, omega one super color flake, Hikari mini algae wafers, Hikari fancy guppy, Hikari freeze dried brine shrimp, Hikari bottom feeder wafers, frozen baby brine shrimp and occasionally Sera onip tabs

The wife and I are watching Lost together since neither of us watched it when it was on originally. I just started Cobra Kai today, and just caught up on the dub of sword art online, watched jurassic world camp cretaceous which was surprisingly good and started watching Pokémon with my 2 year old.

I've used a bleach dip before. Basically fill a container with water and a good amount of bleach like 1/2 a cup - 1 cup per gallon then let the plants sit in it for 10 minutes. The rinse them and put them in water with a ton of dechlorinator for another 10 minutes. Then I put them in a quarantine tank for a few days to make sure everything's good

I really like my Madagascar lace plant. It's not honestly as difficult a plant as many people think, so it makes me feel like I'm some kind of aquatic gardening master. 😂 (I am not.)1st Pic is the whole tank, the Crinum is right in the middle.
2nd is the bucephalandra, it's hard to get a good Pic because of where it is in the tank and how small it is.
3rd is cryptocoryne undulata red. Completely forgot about it earlier but it's another favorite. I got it as a tissue culture half off at petsmart because it had been on the shelf too long and was starting to die. I got 4 plants out of it and all bounced back great. The pic is the largest of the 4.
Sorry all my pics post sideways I can't seem to fix it.

I love my Crinum Calamistratum and my Bucephalandra! The Crinum is in the center of my 35 Hex and is about to reach the top. I use the buce as an accent in a rock structure in the back of the tank.

You don't really need to change water during cycling unless you have livestock that can be harmed by the swings in parameters, but you do need an ammonia source to feed the BB. The initial melt when you first put plants in can work, but if you want to get it started before your plants come you can sprinkle in a bit of fish food.

I noticed last night while staring at my tank when I was supposed to be listening to my wife (she shouldn't sit right next to it if she doesn't want me to get distracted) that several of my neons have areas on their fins that have a red tint. Mostly a large patch in the middle of their dorsal fins and then the red coloration from their bodies extends about half way through their tail fin. And it got me wondering.
Are redfin neons a thing? Can selective breeding produce neon tetras with fully red fins? Has somebody already done this? Should this be my breeding project once I get my fish rack running?

I ordered a random plant package from a retailer I've used in the past. It's a really good deal only catch is they don't tell you what they send you. Now that they are grown in I could use some help with identifying some of them.
First plant came in fully green but now the stems are red and leaves have a slight red tint.
Second came in bright red then started to turn green before I upgraded from my old nicrew to my current hygger light.
Third plant came in pink then turned green until I upgraded my light. Now it's brownish red with pink veins. It also went from having about an inch and a half of stem between sets of leaves to less than half an inch. They're so short because I recently tipped them and replanted the new growth form.
Forth has always been green.
The final one is one of 2 from that bunch that survived the initial melt. And it's the only plant that hasn't shown noticeable growth since I planted the tank in June.

Personally I would steer clear of their knives. X50CrMoV15 is a highly stain resistant steel but thats about the only good thing about it. You can get much better knives for the price. Their cookware on the other hand I want to try. You'll also notice in the endorsements from famous chefs they only mention the cookware not the knives. I'm also weary of them claiming to be made in the USA since the steel they use is only produced in Germany.

Mine has been growing the same way for months now and has shown any I'll effects. It's probably doubled in size in the last 2 or 3 months actually.

I've had luck getting my ottos on Hikari mini algae wafers and bottom feeder wafers. I started feeding them during quarantine with some cories so I think seeing other fish eating them helped. They also like blanched peas, frozen baby brine, and also the bug bites for shrimp. They pretty much go after anything that finds its way onto one of their grazing surfaces now

Did you check ammonia? 0 nitrate is a little hard to believe. Even a heavily planted tank will have some nitrate in the water since the plants only remove it during the day when they're photosynthesizing and it build back up a bit overnight. But unless you can find something wrong with your water or notice something wrong with the fish other than glass surfing I wouldn't worry.
