@FreshwaterFacet, these are some avatar/Pandora style floating rocks I made after watching YouTube videos. I used masonry drill bits to make holes big enough to mostly conceal the eyebolts I screwed into the rocks. The rocks are suspended with fishing line tied to eggcrate lighting fixture panels.

How long have you had it? It sounds defective unless it's really dirty, but I expect you're cleaning it when you take it apart. I bought an ACO powerhead recently and added a medium intake sponge to help pull debris out of my 75g.

In my experience, they aren't hardy fish. I've lost some in conditions that were fine for other fish.

I don't have experience with this, but please share your findings if you end up testing this.
