I have two Sparkling Gourami in a three gallon unfiltered, heavily planted tank. It’s stable, but hard to keep clean. My hunch is that Endlers have a higher bio load since they eat and poop more.

ok I will only keep shrimp in it.

@quirkylemon103 I made the lid for my 40 breeder reef out of a polycarbonate greenhouse panel. It works great, there is hardly any evaporation so my salinity stays consistent(I don't have an auto top-off). I would highly recommend it if you need a special size or shape aquarium lid.

    something like this?

Keep in mind reef lighting is a whole other spectrum compared to planted lights. The colors tend to be more blue, and in freshwater don't always provide optimum growth of plants.

yeah I know it is for a reef tank I probably should have mentioned that.

We needed one that fit our sponge filters. While doing this I eliminated the venturi system, made the cord extra long. Kept the price down and can keep them in stock as the aquatop we carried before was difficult to keep in stock.

    Thanks for responding.

The shaft is carbon fiber, I love these nets so far. There are tweaks I would make, but an all aluminum net and other crazy things would make for $50+ nets lol.

also our powerhead is available as well.

Hello Cory! Not to sound rude but is there anything interesting or special about the new powerheads? Why did you decide to sell them?

I know this thread is a few months old, but heres what I have to say...

After being an owner of both a JC&P light and Nicrew Light, I have to say the Nicrew is far superior.

I really regret buying the JC&P light for my rescue bettas tank. Its a pain to program.

Sometimes I'll be away all day and so I wont be able to enjoy my tanks with the lights on. Often when this happends I just simply turn them on, and then turn them off when I go to bed. Usually when I turn them off again, they go back to their regular timer. But with the JC&P I have to re-program the timer to turn it on.

ok I won't get the JC&P lights I don't know if I am going to be patient and get the finnex lights or I if I am going to get the nicrew 🤷‍♂️

do the nicrew lights have something to hang them? if they don't I am going to get the finnex for my 75 gallon

I bet a lot of us relate to the depression, or other mental health issues. You're not alone.

No nitrate makes me wonder if the cycle *might* have crashed. (Of course, your plants might have just chowed it down.) Maybe check ammonia, just to be sure.

Sorry about your kribensis fry. 😞

for most of the tanks lifetime it has had zero nitrate(except for when it had almost no plants). also I am adding a lot of fertilizer(3 pumps of easy green 2 times a week) so I don't think the cycle has crashed but I will be careful.

I'm am thinking about taking my last kribensis to the fish store and getting a betta(or more cories and tetras)

  8. ok so it has been awhile since I have posted. but I am back. long story short: I lost all motivation for anything so my tanks were looking horrible. TLDR depression go brrrrrr.

so I did a lot of tank cleaning yesterday and I tested the water(it was the normal results no nitrate, high gh, kh, 7-7.6ish ph). the tanks are looking a lot better. I think all the kribensis babies got eaten while I was on vacation 😢

I might post a picture later if I remember(so probably no)

    Hello,

I travel a lot for work and find having a fish tank visible very relaxing. I have really liked the aquariums that I have seen on Aquarium Co-Ops YouTube shows. What is the likelihood of them having a full time stream of one of their main tanks? Also since I have amazon prime I have a free subscription that I would be happy to give to Aquarium Co-Op to support their content even without this.

    Thanks,

    Charles

@quirkylemon103 my Bolivian rams don't mess with my shrimp at all, but I can't say that for all cichlids. Apistogrammas for example would take care of them in short order. It's been years ago that I've kept kribensis, I had some in a tank with Congo tetras but that was long before I kept any shrimp, so I can't really say if they would be a good mix.

    ok I won't try yet.
