Got a dozen Nannostomus Beckfordi this week for my Apistogramma Cacatouides breeding tank. This one male is BOSSING the tank!
Anyone ever experienced this behavior with ✏️ 🐟 before? I’d say… the Pencilfish is mightier than the sword…
I haven't kept pencilfish before but I had a neon tetra that would boss everything 🤣 also I wish my "dirty" tanks looked that good.

what kind of filter? if it is a protein skimmer I don't think it is useful in freshwater. Also I would check the stand for any saltwater damage.
Good luck with the tank!

how is the tank doing?

Coifed or crude, they all have their place. I'm quite happy with something that looks natural. Someday I might also a beautifully manicured tank The picture is a fishcam view of my 29 in early morning sun. Not much to look at, but the fish like it. A front view might reveal the occasional floating leaf, It is more unkempt than jungle. The plants grow if and where they want. The only improvement I hope to make is establishing the "balance" others seem to fall into, and getting a better fishcam.
are those pearl danios(D. albolineatus)?

I am redoing the tank soon. I need to move the danios in because there tank nitrate is getting too high very quickly 20 ppm to 50-70 ppm in a week

so is the build thread done? maybe you could use it for information that wouldn't do well on the video.

That really stinks. What sort of trouble shooting have you done so far?
My wife’s tank goes through periodic cycles of green algae after she trims it. I guess it’s triggered by more light. She just gives it a bit of time and it sorts itself out.I Have tried doing more water changes, reducing light, increasing fertilizer. even if I can fix it I am still going to use the gravel and plants for my 5 gallons. I have been planning to move the danios to a larger tank for a long time

my tanks are looking horrible there is blue green algae and maybe some green hair algae I'm not sure what it is though. the only tank that looks good is my reef. I got a duncan for it at aquashella and it is doing good.
I got 2 5 gallons at the aquarium club swap meet. I think I am going to take down the 20 long and use the gravel and plants for the 5 gallon tanks then set it up again for the danios.

Nwaas just finished up another swap, I carried home a few plants and live food cultures, it's fun meeting new people but to me it seemed a little sparse as compared to the previous one I attended. There were a ton of plecos and angelfish that sold fast.
I got 2 5 gallon tanks and some anubias and of course more books

kessil lights are intense I am running a A80 on my 10 gallon saltwater and at the lowest setting it is still very bright

I'm addicted to starting new projects and not finishing the older ones. my main issue is not buying enough lights and substrate.
