Filtering a 75 gallon tank

After a recent post about a 60 gallon tank and stand set that was on sale and deciding against that, I have been looking into getting 75 gallon instead. 

Maybe dumb, but before I was definitely settled on a size, I bought a filter on craigslist. It is a fluval 306 canister filter but it is supposed to be rated for up to 70 gallons. I also bought aquarium co-op's largest sponge filter (I think for 40+ gallons). With those two combined, will that be enough filtration for a 75 gallon?

unless you very heavily stock it, that should be plenty of filtration.

Oh yeah, that canister should be more than enough unless you're going crazy on the stocking, especially if you combo with live plants.

Yes, as posted previously, the canister alone is more than enough filtration. Filtration is often misunderstood by hobbyists. Filters merely aid with water clarity, not water purity. Too many over filter wasting money and energy.
