Fluval Nano filter with spray bar?

Okay so I just picked up a rimless 5.5 gallon tank that was on sale at Petco, and I was thinking of trying out this filter from Fluval

Have any of you had one? Do you think it’s to big for a 5.5, there are mixed reviews about that?

For about half the price you could get a Top Fin MF10 from PetSmart. They are symmetrical and you can replace the media with Aquaclear 20 foam.

I can’t find any place that has those @Streetwise did they stop making them?

They are in-store only, so you won’t be able to find them online. I’m not sure why they don’t at least get a listing on the website.

I don’t have a pet smart ☹️ But I do see some of brand ones I could try out. How does yours work? Good? I’m gonna do a shrimp tank

Have you considered a sponge filter? I have kne it works great and a lot of the food and algea that grows on it the shrimp will eat.

I do use sponge filters I just was gonna try something different. And I don’t know why but when I hear rimless I think spray bar lol

Then go for it experimenting in the aquarium hobby never hurts solong as its thought out and is the best way to learn.
