hggk
Can anyone identify this fish for me? It is a shell dweller and the seller is claiming it is Neolampralogus Signatus but I am not sure. The body shape is much closer to the shape of a multi or a similis. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about haha. The seller is a couple hours from me so want to be sure before I go. I have been looking to start up a shell dweller tank for a while and unfortunately finding them around here and even online is proving tricky these days. Thanks a ton for the help! hggk
That was my initial thought as well, but when I asked if it was a multi he said "no they are Neolampralogus Signatus". But I am leaning towards you being right, some of the larger ones in the tank picture seem very dark but I'm not sure I have ever seen a multi that size in person. The ones we rarely get at the LFS are always tiny. They definitely don't look like Signatus to me, so figured I had better get a second opinion. Thanks! Colu
Mutifasciatus males get 2in female 1in signatus male get 2.2in female get 1.4in so there's not much size difference
hggk
Sorry no I didn't mean I don't think multis get that big, just that I have only seen smaller ones so was unsure of their coloration. No matter what the body shape seems off for a Signatus. Which is kind of a shame, was just hoping to find a shell dweller that wasn't a multi as they seem to be the only ones that are ever available in my area. hggk
Just now, Colu said: Mutifasciatus are the only one have seen in my lfs Ya it's a bit of a shame there are some really amazing shell dwellers out there that we never see. Unfortunately the few websites that have them in Canada have been out of stock since Covid hit. So I was ecstatic when I saw this add go up, should have known it was too good to be true.
