Working on the 90 gallon for my live stream studio and got the background in.  Background came from Universal Rocks and fortunately I was able to get a standard background so shipping and cost were not insane.

Now that you've had your background for a while, how do you feel about it? I'm considering getting one, but I'm concerned about what goes on between the background and the glass and that there will be waste buildup back there that could cause potential danger in the future.

I am actually pleased with it.  I both siliconed it to the back of the glass and applied silicone around the edges.  I have not had any problems with it affecting the tank negatively.

I had one on the back of my African cichlid tank for over a year. I did not silicone it at all and had no issues. It also made removing no problem
