Moving fish from QT to Main tank

How should I go about moving fish from QT which has a current ph of about 6.4 to my main tank that has a ph of about 8.2?

I would put the fish into a bucket with the QT water, then acclimate them by adding tank water to the bucket every ten minutes or so until the bucket Ph is closer to the tank's Ph.

Out of curiosity, why is there such a difference in pH between your main tank and quarantine tank? 🤔

Well there's alot going on. I got fish for the QT before it was done cycling so I'm dosing daily with seachem safe daily. Plus I'm in the middle of a bacterial bloom. Before the bloom I had one fish starting to get ich so I started the med trio. Did all three meds because I figured I might as well if I'm going to do one. Havent had any deaths yet and starting this weekend I will begin the second round of general cure. Saturday will be the two weeks between first treatment. Thoughts?

Long ago I read that it takes fish weeks to acclimate to a different water chemistry. And importers report that they acclimate fish for temperature only, then drop the fish right into the 'new' water. So you might attempt some sort of acclimation, but I question whether it's really effective.
