Noodles
Hey gang, extremely new to the hobby, and was mainly looking for some reassurance I guess. Tank has been up and running for about four and a half weeks now, but I started with no fertilizers whatsoever. My plants seemed to have stopped melting, but there doesn't seem to any more progress, and there's a start of some hair algae and cyano. In terms of water hardness, looks like I'm lacking in nutrients: kH: 2.0 gh: 3.0 Just bought some root tabs from Aquarium co-op, which should help the Amazon swords, lilaeopsis brasilliensis, alternanthera reineckii mini, and dwarf hairgrass. Was thinking of getting some Easy Green liquid feet for my Java Fern Windelov and Christmas moss, but I live in Minnesota, and it's looking like we're getting a cold snap soon; how does Aquarium Co-op anticipate for temperature sensitive items? Is there a chance the Easy Green will lose nutrient effectivity due to freezing? How does AC Easy Iron and Easy Carbon compare to Seachem Iron and Excel? lefty o
cold snap soon, ha we have it now. the co-op ships things well packed, and while i cant speak for them i would bet they put liquids in one of their little insulated bags and maybe a heat pack. now that doesnt guarantee the post office doesnt lose it or sit on it for a while. i would probably roll the dice and order some easy green if i did not already have it.
FrozenFins
Aquarium Co-op Is very good with their customer service. I can assure you that they will refund any products "ruined" in shipping. So if the easy green does freeze they will most likely refund it. They do insolate their boxes. The Easy Iron and Easy Carbon are all great products and in my opinion are better then the seachem fertilizers.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. Just wanted to see if someone has ever had to deal with a frozen shipment before. Thanks for the input! I don't doubt Co-op will make things right in the end, I guess I just don't want to have to have them keep fixing an issue that is unavoidable. If the fertilizer freezing doesn't take away from its effectivity, then it's a win-win. And thanks for the advice on the Seachem line, I'm definitely leaning Co-op as I'm doing my research and watching the live streams.
