Beardedbillygoat1975
My platy female has developed something with her tail. It appeared yesterday like a cut at the top of the tail where it joins the body of the fish and now today part of it is gone and there is some white tissue left behind. Prior to this there was no signs of ich, fin rot or other diseases. She is in with the male platy and some endler males and some white clouds. I put in aquarium salt yesterday and today. I went ahead and dosed some ich x as I’ve always been told methylene blue was good for wounds along with salt.

Beardedbillygoat1975
Went ahead and used Maracyn, a dose of Paracleanse and ICH-X after a 50% water change and added some aquarium salt. She looks good for how awful her tail looks and there’s no signs on her tank mates. She ate well before I treated the tank and I’ll let her eat algae and fast her for the next 5 days. I went ahead removed the male platy figuring his advances and pecking could cause undue stress. I put him in the QT tank and treated him too after changing qt water. Beardedbillygoat1975
I’ve seen improvements in her tail, she has some lighter brown to yellow poop that’s now gone, and she’s eating and appropriately active. Will give another 2 rounds for a total Of 5 doses.
