Gucci Gourami
I bought 2 pieces of ghost wood from a local fish shop they were sand blasted. How do I make these pieces of wood aquarium safe? Edited November 28, 2020 by Gucci Gourami
H.K.Luterman
If they were sold at a fish shop, they're probably fine as is. If you can fit them in a pot, boiling for 10 minutes or so would help them sink/kill anything on them. You can also try baking them in an oven at 200 F for an hour or two (monitoring for safety of course). Personally I just boil, but I've also added in wood after just rinsing under tap water. Fishmonger_X
I've never boiled wood ever. I just stick it in my tank and if it wants to float I pile rocks on it until it gets water logged.
