Maximus
I've enjoyed iterating on solutions for lids. I used glass in the past, but I was turned on to twin wall polycarb @Cory mentioned in a video once. Then, I saw a comment by @dasaltemelosguy using lighting grid to allow pothos roots (including aerials) into the water and bamboo to grow up and out with some support. I decided to try a combination of lighting grid along the back with polycarb up front. They aren't fastened together, which allows easy removal of either piece, and easy access to the tank with a large space. The hope here is to enjoy the benefits of the lighting grid while not getting as much evaporation as I do with a full lid of the material. 2
Guppysnail
This is what I do on all my tanks. Only I use standard glass lids minus the back plastic strip. I upgraded to this a few years back. I also got my idea along with many other great ideas from @dasaltemelosguy 🤗 3
Maximus
Looks great @Guppysnail, how do you manage all of those roots for the larger houseplants?

With a pair of regular scissors I very ungracefully chop them back when they take over the tank. 🤣. Most fish enjoy the structure they provide in the tank. Gobs of fry survive parents with that much root structure. I have square planters they start in in some tanks but the roots quickly outgrow those. 1
