Java fern

Recommended Posts

I am tired of buying and losing my java ferns, I am doing something wrong.

Are any of these salvagable?

I have them in my asian tank, low plant, high flow and apparently something wrong. What now, if they can be salvaged, should I put them in a jar or a box and nurse them a bit before returning them? One of the plants is doing well, but looking at what plants I started with, I have barely half

Thanks

Also, if you are burying the rhizome you are setting yourself up for failure. I couldnt help but notice plants glued to any rocks were absent from your photos. I suspect this might be your issue

I just wedge them between rocks, I didnt want to glue. Would it be better to glue?

Imo yes, mostly because you can easily move them and see where they are happiest. If they are producing plant~lits its a good indication they are stressed.

You can just glue hem to rather small rocks too.  Just big enough to held them down.  They dont have to be glued to large decorative rocks.

then you can rearrange them in the tank to suit your fancy…
