I bought a fish from petsmart and after putting it in my tank for 15 minutes I think it has ich

I removed the fish from my tank once I saw what looks like ich and have it in a separate tank now. Do I need to use ich medicine on my whole tank or does ich not spread in 15 minutes?

As long as your other fish are healthy and well established in your tank you're probably fine, I wouldn't treat, but I would order ich-x to have it ready just in case. You'll want the ich-x for the fish in quarantine anyway.

With ich you want to treat for three days after you see the last spots and add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons as ich causes massive electrolyte loss and the salt will add back in essential electrolytes just remember to only put back in what you take out so if you do a 5 gallon water put 1 table spoon of salt back in if your not seeing any spots on your other what I would do is add one dose of ick X in and let it marinate for a week as a preventive treatment @Michaeldv2
